Naples, Florida in the Summer

All of my northern friends ask how can you live in Florida in the summer. EASY. Less crowds, warm pool water, better fishing and a beautiful blue sky (not the gray haze of the Northeast that is a typical summer sky).

My favorite time of year is this time. I wake up every morning to blue skies and puffy white clouds. Working behind a desk is just a little easier when things are light and bright. The craziness of winter and it's demands of company and clients are gone. I am still selling and listing as any good Realtor should do but I don't have that frantic pace I had in the "season".

June is typically a slow real estate month. Kids are out of school and families are just starting to make their plans for vacation. Not much going on as far a s real estate. We are now waiting for the Europeans to come and spend their summer with us, usually July and August. Working on 5th Avenue allows me to step out of the office and take in the surroundings. On any given day you can hear the different languages and realize you are very much in an international market.

Our prices are adjusting to realistic values. Sales continue to be brisk. There is an unwritten feeling that everyone knows, once the lower priced houses and condos are sold, the sellers that are still listed probably won't want to negotiate as willingly. We still have a LOT of inventory but boy, does that make my buyers happy! I have several that are from out of town an sitting on the fence. Lately I've had the feeling through conversations that this is the summer to buy for them. They've been looking for 2 or 3 summers and it just isn't going to get any better. I am already gearing up for fall and winter. I have a feeling it's going to be a wild ride! after I go to the beach.
