I hate doom and gloom.
That's one reason my husband and I moved from southeastern Pennsylvania to sunny southwest Florida. The dreary gray skies of that region was enough to unhinge me. I can say the same for those around me that spread doom and gloom in the world of real estate.
Here is a tip, the real estate market is picking up. There is pent up demand, investors (not speculators using home equity to purchase) are scratching around to find good buys and our walk-in traffic at RealtyUSA is a steady flow. Our shoulder season is April 19th. As a former travel agent, the shoulder season is the time you could find hotels beginning to step down their higher "season" prices. The local mentality is that the home prices will drop when our snow birds go home to cut their lawns. I think otherwise. I have too many people on the books with trips planned to come and buy in the next months. There are fantastic deals out there and many, many choices but that is not going to last forever. Once the newspapers have the news that things are better, you'll be looking at a cloud of dust from those who chose to buy now. All the reports gathered nationwide are done so on a monthly basis and our market can change that quickly. Our pendings and solds are remaining consistently higher and the showing traffic is definitely up. One factor the news and media are under reporting are the numbers of foreigners that are coming here to buy. Is this not good news? So why all the doom and gloom?
